Emer is a skilled insurance defense litigator.  In working with regional and national law firms over the past decade, she has focused her practice on transportation litigation. She has defended public benefit corporations, commercial lessors and ride-share operators in complex personal injury lawsuits.  Emer previously served as a court representative for the Office of the New York City Comptroller where she acted with independent financial authority to resolve pre-suit claims and lawsuits filed against the City of New York and its agencies. These matters included high exposure civil rights and general tort claims related to police and prosecutorial conduct, school and jail supervision, premises and sidewalk maintenance, roadway design and automobile use, among others.  Her meticulous and practical approach to all aspects of a case helps secure advantageous and cost-effective resolutions for her clients.
